Employee Wellness

The Rockefeller University offers a comprehensive benefits package encompassing a range of offerings, including health insurance, a retirement annuity plan, vacation time, and various wellness programs. Our holistic approach supports employees in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and overall well-being.

We offer comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits for you and your eligible dependents. 

Free life insurance at 1x your base salary up to $50,000, with an option to purchase additional coverage for regular employees. We also offer Voluntary AD&D, Long-Term Disability, and Business & Travel Accident insurance. 

We reimburse full-time staff employees for registration, books, and necessary supplies for approved courses at 100% of the total tuition up to $7,500, and 85% of the balance up to a total of $15,000 per fiscal year. 

Once you have completed two years of service, which may be waived, the University will contribute a percentage of your annual salary into a retirement plan through TIAA. 

Our Child & Family Center provides developmentally appropriate early childhood education for the youngest members of the Rockefeller community, beginning at age 3 months.  

We have a free gym for all employees, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts and an extensive wellness program that includes free on-site physical therapy and mental health support, vaccine clinics, cholesterol, diabetes, skin cancer screenings and more!

We offer paid holidays (including being closed between Christmas and New Year's Day) for all employees as well as vacation time for full-time and certain part-time employees.

We offer discounts through various tri-state establishments including 1-800 flowers.com, The New York Times, MoMA - The Museum of Modern Art, Verizon Wireless, Chelsea Piers, movie tickets, Broadway and more! 

Our monthly initiatives are dedicated to enhancing employee well-being and fostering a vibrant community on campus. Designed to promote work-life balance, Wellness Wednesday offers a diverse array of activities such as seasonal bingo, Flower Arrangement workshops, Origami Folding and Self-defense classes among others! 

Our pop-up events are designed to nurture a sense of belonging among everyone on campus. From spontaneous social ice cream gatherings to Summer-themed celebrations, these events bring colleagues together in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
